Hello Shining People! I trust everyone has been enjoying V25.1 and our newfound flexibility with our favorite game. I’ll share right off that planning has begun for V26, which on the mod side will mainly be a consolidation of everything to date.

In the time since the release of V25.1, many patches/mods have been refined and many new ones have been created. I would encourage everyone to browse the V25+ directory on the FTP to make sure you have the latest versions of all the patches you’re using or perhaps find something new to play with. We’ll save the full list for another update, but I would like to mention there is now a Reduced Flashing mod for those who are sensitive. Very cool.

There have also been additions to the Mods folder including a Randomizer (all scenarios) and a Reimagining of Sc3 (both by Lyaka) if you are feeling like something different.

Regarding the SF3 World Book Translation, Special T and I have continued to release pages at a steady pace. We are approaching 3/4 done with the profiles and other currently sponsored pages. You can view and grab these for yourself on the FTP at the link below. All png’s are completed pages.

As we can start to see the light at the end of the World Book tunnel, at least regarding the profiles, we turn our attention to some other pages that are begging to be next. First on the list are the race pages 154-156 (originally). As discussed in the thread, these are text heavy pages that cost significantly more to translate than the profiles. So we’ve broken them up into thirds and will be taking the remaining sponsorships for them starting now. Page 154 will be $10 per 1/3 page while pages 155 and 156 will be $14 per 1/3 page. Note one third of 155 has already been sponsored. I’m happy to announce Switch, our dedicated translator, after some down time, has finished the Sc2 sections that needed another look. They are still being incorporated, but at least that hard (and expensive) part is done. Thank you to everyone who donated to make that happen.

In related news, the translation slush fund is dry. This started with some generous random donations and overflow donations for the end of Sc2 effort. Anytime something comes up that we need translated, usually not large things, just various random things we want clear up or investigate, we’ve been using donations to do so. For perspective, this has been used fairly modestly, somewhere around $100/year average. If something big comes along, like the Sc2 effort, I will request donations for those specific purposes. So if you would like to help replenish this, you can do so at the same link above. Just be sure to put in the note what it is for. I personally take management of donations very seriously. They are a sometimes-necessary evil, but it has been nice being able to get curiosities investigated as needed and I believe both the Translation Project proper as well as the World Book effort have benefitted greatly as a result.
